Ioannis Tsatsoulis Obituary

Ioannis (John) George Tsatsoulis, a native of Mouzaki, Tripolis, Greece, and long time resident of New Orleans, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, age 75 years. Beloved husband of Kathy Tsatsoulis. Father of Konstantina Tsatsoulis, Pagona ""Peggy"" Tsatsoulis (Peter Baldrachi), and Dr. Dimitra Tsatsoulis. Adored Pappou of Konstantinos Ioannis Baldrachi. Son of the late George and Konstantina Tsatsoulis. Also survived by mother-in-law Pagona Vounaniotis, as well as his siblings, nieces and nephews residing in the U.S. and Greece. As a young man, John came to New Orleans in pursuit of the American Dream. He became a successful entrepreneur, dedicated husband and father, and an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church Community. He served his church as a former Vice-President of the Parish Council, Member of the Board of Trustees, and Chairman of the Real Estate Committee. He was a kind, sincere, and goal oriented individual with a great sense of humor and thirst for knowledge. Throughout his life he was committed to the ideals of Hellenism. He valued his family, hard work, and the importance of education. He instilled these values in his daughters and was incredibly proud of their professional accomplishments. His greatest joy in the past six years was his grandson, Dean John. May his memory be eternal. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd., New Orleans, LA, on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Autism Society, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I enjoyed meeting him when you vacated room 400 several years ago. He was such a helpful and humerous dad and I could tell that he was definitely a loving father and support to you. I know he will be surely missed by you, your son and your family. Hope to see you when you get back.

Sam and I give you our deepest sympathies. Even though I had only met him a few times I know his family meant everything to him because he was a dedicated husband to his lovely and sweet wife Kathy, my late mother's first cousin, and he supported his daughters tremendously as they all three have become very successful, smart career women. I believe a father's greatest gift to his daughters is to enable them to be independent not having to depend on anyone. Hearing about your father's passing brings back the pain I felt after having lost my father not too long ago. It is a horrible pain but it will get a little easier to endure every passing day. We love you all so much!
