Irene Finch Obituary

Irene M. Finch lifelong Lowell resident; 95 LOWELL Irene M. (Belanger) Finch, a life long resident of Lowell, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in Lowell, after an extended illness, aged 95 years. She was the wife of the late Frederick R Finch Sr. Born in Lowell, on January 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Nelson A. and Laura (Doyer) Belanger. She received her early education in the Lowell School system, and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1931. For a short period of time she had been employed at Pilling Shoe formerly of Lowell where she met Fred and they married and settle in Lowell. Mrs. Finch was an active life long member of the First United Baptist Church of Lowell where she taught kindergarten and Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Finch also served as a Deaconess for many years; she was also a member of the "Red Hat Society" at River Valley House. Mrs. Finch is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Ruby Ratcliffe and Kenneth B. of Gilford, New Hampshire; a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick "Rick" Finch and his wife Diane of Tewksbury. One sister, Lilla E. Kimberland of Chelmsford, and one brother; Nelson A.Belanger, Jr. and his wife Betty of Hyannis MA. Four grandchildren, Heather Gray and her husband Larry of Nashua, NH, Lauren Tobiassen and her husband Todd of Townsend, Lisa Adams of Tewksbury and Todd Ratcliffe of Lowell. Three great-grandchildren, Zachory Goldberg, and Abby Goldberg of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Tyler and Joshua of Tewksbury. She was the sister of the late Pearl Brock, Ruby Lake, Janet Deutchman, and Fern Lapham. FINCH Mrs. Irene M. (Belanger) Finch, a resident of Lowell, died June 16, 2009 in Lowell aged 95 years. She was the wife of the late Frederick R. Finch, Sr. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd. at Chester and Harvard Sts. on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service Friday at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery.
