Isabelle Amedee Hecker departed this life on November 22, 2018 in Ivanhoe, MN. A service will be held in the Chapel at Divine Providence Health Center on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Isabelle Amedee Hecker passed away on 22 November 2018 at the age of 90, and was welcomed into eternal life by Sidney, her loving husband of 67 years, their daughter, Mary Ellen; parents, Louis and Odile (Ristroph) Amedee; sister, Gladys; and brothers: Russell, Lawrence and Ray. Isabelle was born on June 6, 1928 in Lutcher, LA. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans, and at 18 married the handsome young POW she met on a blind date. They found joys and challenges together in New Orleans, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Mobile, the Panama Canal Zone and finally Diamondhead. They were blessed to share the beautiful home Isabelle designed with family and friends for over 30 years. Isabelle was always curious with an infectious smile and gentle nature. She loved to entertain, cook, garden, golf and travel. She was a patient caregiver for many relatives and friends. She and Sid were active members of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Magnolia Chapter of the ExPows. Isabelle leaves behind her daughter, her grandchildren and their families and great-grandchildren: Susan and Ronald Cram, Jessica and Eric Dybsitter, Micheal Corrtez and partner Deepti Jodhawat, John Cram, Ben Cram, and Katherine and Evan Erickson. She will also be missed and remembered with love by the Icaza family, especially Gladys Maria and Antonio; her godson, John DeLassus and his wife Diana; her goddaughters, Mary Beth Amedee, Chrissie Kaplan and Victoria Parkar and her parents; sister-in-law, Joy Amedee; niece, Rita Amedee; and special friends: Penny, Resa, Rosa Maria, Audrey, Matt and Ginnie. The family would like to offer their prayers and gratitude to Mary Swenson and the staff and residents at Divine Providence Health Center and to the staff and volunteers of Avera at Home Hospice for their constant love and gentle care.
