Jack White Obituary

Jack G. White Jr., "Gramps," died December 9, 2017, peacefully surrounded by family after a lengthy and valiant battle with lung and pancreatic cancer. He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty; son Jason White; daughter Victoria (Peter) Chavanne; and grandchildren Dylan Tetlow, Jackson Chavanne and Hailey White. Also survived by his mother, Carol DiMaggio White; and sister, Janice (Henry) Bianchini; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack G. White Sr.; his grandmother, Lena Mitchell; grandfather Vincent Mitchell; father-in-law Guy Molinary Sr.; and mother-in-law, Betty Prattini Molinary; along with many others. He was a rider in the Krewe of Endymion for many years and a member of New Orleans Central City Lions Club. He was an avid photographer for most of his life. He worked for West Jefferson General Hospital for 19 years as a director of the first hospital computer system in the state, as well as for the Department of Defense, New Orleans City Hall, the 911 system and others. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., on Monday, December 18. Viewing begins at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am.
