James Arthur Brown Sr.

James Arthur Brown, Sr. "entered into eternal rest" on Tuesday August 9, 2016 after a lengthy illness at Kindred Hospital at the age of 68. He was born in Fostoria, Alabama and at an early age, he moved to Selma Alabama and graduated from Central High School. After graduation he moved to New Orleans, La. He was employed by the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation for over 30 years. He was preceded in Death by his father Emmit Brown, his mother Beulah Mae Williams Brown; one sister Alice Mae Brown. He is survived by his devoted wife Cheryl Perkins Brown; his children James Arthur Brown, Jr. and Quantika Brown Johnson, two grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, his brother Charles Brown Sr.(Lillian), Emmit Brown (Mildred), Willie Brown (Marilyn) and sister Annie Pearl Brown. Relatives and friends of the family also pastor, officers and members of Israelite Baptist Church, Galilee Baptist Church of Clinton, La; Mount Olive #2 Baptist Church and Summer Grove Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama, Kingdom Rhema International Ministry, New Orleans Sanitation Department, Metro Service Group and Belk's Department Store of Selma Alabama are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday August 20, 2016 for 10:00 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church 2100 Martin Luther King Blvd. New Orleans, La.
