James Cassidey Obituary

James "Jim" J. Cassidey Jr., 89, of Abita Springs, La., passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018. He was born on February 13, 1928, in New Orleans, La., to James J. Cassidey Sr. and Laura Helwick Cassidey. James is survived by his three daughters Janet Schaeffler (Chuck), Joan Mitchell (Jack), Jarme Martino (David); his daughter-in-law Sheila Cassidey; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy T. Cassidey, his son John J. Cassidey, his parents, and his later in life dear friend Marie Seiler. Jim served in the United States Navy during World War II. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, La., on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 10:30 AM, with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of James to be made to COAST Transportation, 500 N Theard Street, Covington, LA 70433. Please sign the E.J.
