James Jiles Obituary

James 'June Bug' Jiles Jr., transitioned to be with the Lord after a long-fought battle with cancer. Born in Independence, Louisiana, on January 22, 1951, the only boy of five children born to the late James Jiles Sr. and Mary Jo (Neal) Jiles. He leaves behind one daughter, Jamie Bell, five grandchildren, Dasani, Kahlia, Montrell (Sakai), Vontrell, and Natalie, and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by two sisters, Linda (Wilbert) and Carolyn (Authur), one uncle, Will (Shirley), and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Ella Jiles, and two sisters, Ernestine, and Cathy. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Patrick McDowell, officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122.
