James E. "Niney" Larche Sr.

James E. "Niney" Larche, Sr., 82, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 6, 2015 in Slidell, Louisiana. Devoted husband of the late Helen Pichon Larche and loving father of Gary Larche (Tammy), Cedric Larche (Kim), Travis Larche (Leslie), and the late James "Jimmy" Larche, Jr. Proud grandfather of Ashley Larche LaViscount (David), Taylor Larche, Connor Larche, Tamara Larche and one great grandson, David Eli LaViscount. Brother of Vivian Perkins, Louis Larche Jr., Phyllis Mercadel, Anthony Larche, the late Katherine "Marion" Ancar, and the late Grace Andry. He is also survived by 5 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Louis Larche, Sr. and Adele Gaugis Larche. James attended Joseph S. Clark Preparatory in New Orleans, and went on the serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He worked many years at Halter Marine and retired from Martin Marietta in 1994. He loved spending time with his family and delighted in capturing moments with his camera. He was a skilled carpenter, enjoyed country music, and could always be found with a smile on his face. He and his wife were parishioners of St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 Hwy 433 Slidell, LA. Visitation from 9:00am- 11:00am. Memorial mass to follow at 11:00am.
