James Leman Obituary

Leman James Emile Leman -Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, & Grandfather. James passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 31st at the Ochsner Medical Center. He was born on October 10th, 1939 in New Orleans to Clara Moulezun Leman and Melvin Emile Leman; he graduated from Fortier High School in 1958. James was a long time resident of Terrytown for 51 years. He was happily married to Gail Larrieu Leman for 52 years after first meeting in 1961 by way of a blind date at the supper dance for the Krewe of Freret. He enjoyed many years of being a member of the Krewe of Freret, Alla, Morpheus and Druids. James retired from Brown & Root to pursue his hobbies. He was a Vestry and Junior Warden of St. Marks Church and enjoyed going to bible study on a weekly basis. He was President of the Men's Club. James was an active member in his community, a man of strong faith and family values. James is survived by his wife Gail Leman; his loving children Paul J. Leman, Michael Leman and Michelle Leman Landry; his beloved grandchildren Alicia Aucoin, James R. Leman, Michaela Leman, Lindsay Leman, Alex Aucoin, Evan Landry, Jessica Landry, Alex Landry, Jake Leman, Christopher Leman and Paul A. Leman; great grand-children Lucy Aucoin and Mya Rodriguez; sister Joanne Leman and Jeanne Leman Calonje; son and daughter-in-law Blaine Landry and Marylyn Leman. Family & Friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey, 70058 from 9am - 1pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marks Church, 3245 Manhattan Blvd in Harvey, 70058 on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Blvd in New Orleans 70124. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.

Gail and family - We will dearly miss Jim at St. Mark's. We all have such fond memories of him and it will not be the same there without him. Know that you and you family are being held lovingly in our heavenly Father's arms. Rejoice and take comfort that Jim is sitting at the feet of His Lord and Savior and listening to His every word. Oh, what a sight!
