Whenever I cast my eyes on the perceptive and wistful portrait that Roy did of our youngest son, Matthew, or visit our son, Michael, in Baton Rouge, I view Roy's portrait of four of our grandchildren mounted over the fireplace in the great room of Michael's home. So for us, a little bit of Roy's masterful talent will remain alive and vibrant. Roy was also the godfather of our first son, Robert, and Janet and I became friends at LSU when Roy served in the armed forces during the Korean War. We go back a long time - since I was 17, and after both our marriages, we lived near each others in Metairie before both moving to the Northshore. We treasured his friendship and that of his wife Janet. My memories include the birth of their four children. Shep and Janet and Roy are now in the loving arms of their Creator. Pray for us remaining here on earth. God loved you here and loves you more now when you all are with Him forever.

Roy and Janet were a constant in my parents lives since they were all children. They treasured them both and enjoyed many memories with them . I know the loss of Janet took a toll on my mother and I know this will not be easy for my father either. Lifelong friends are one of God's most beautiful gifts. My thoughts go out to their children. I am sorry I am not at the service to see you all. I know the girls will understand as we all share the retail profession. It breaks my heart but I just keep thinking that they are together again with their maker. God Bless. Laurie Legendre

Al and I are go sorry to read of Roy's passing. We remember him when we look at the drawings he did of our children and of us. What a talent he had and his voice was beautiful! I remember when I first met Roy, I was in high school. Janet's parents were visiting us at our summer home in Covington, La and she brought Roy, they were both at LSU at the time. We all fell in love with him! Roy was such a sweet and kind man! We will all miss him.

Roy's memory will stay with me through the drawings he did of my family. I was happy to call him my friend.
