James Spears

James "Chris" Spears, born August 22, 1956, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the age of 65. James loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age. He was educated in the New Orleans Public School system and graduated from Booker T. Washington Sr High in 1974. Born to the union of Evelyn Strode and the late James Spears. James was a truck driver for Eagle Packing and he was a shuttle bus driver for Treasure Chest Casino. He enjoyed talking on his CB radio and riding his motorcycle on his spare time. He also enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandkids. He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife Mary Turner, children: Crystal Turner, Unika Turner, James and Brandon Turner, and Christopher Washington and his loving mother Evelyn Strode. Grandfather of Leah Gresham, Makayla and Jamia Turner, London and Lauryn Ellis, and nephew Lil James Spears. Also survived by a host of, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his father James Spears, brother James "Nolan Spears and sister Johnnie "Mae" Spears. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, October 9, 2021, for 1:00 p.m at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70003. Due to COVID-19, all attendees are required to wear face masks.
