James Taylor

James Taylor transitioned at his home in New Orleans on February 22, 2022, at the age of 75. He was a retired longshoreman, entrepreneur, and community leader. James enjoyed playing pool, tennis, golf, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. His community admired him for the wisdom he shared with the youth in the community. He will reunite with his parents, Rose Taylor and Lester Williams; his grandmother Rev. Mother Alma Bell Taylor Shaw; his eight siblings, Lawrence, Rose, Paul, Edgar, Henrietta, Larry, Michael, John; and his son Tony Lemon. He leaves his children Clintdell Taylor, Janner Taylor, Renida Marshall, and China Lemon, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren to cherish his legacy in life's book of memories. He was loved and adored like a father by Joyce Marie Turner, Judy Ann Nolan, Sylvia Ann Lemon, Pleasant Lemon, Jason Lemon, Terry Lemon, Renee Lemon, Carolyn Douglas, and Janice Lemon, and his godson Robert Smith. His four loving sisters will greatly miss him, Lillie (Sylvester) Smith Sr., Pinkey Taylor Hills, Alma M. Taylor, and Jacqueline (Stafford) Julien. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, other relatives and beloved friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Cosmopolitan Evangelist B.C., 1929 Bienville St, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all attendees are required to wear face masks and adhere to social distancing.
