Jan & I grew up in Mansfield, Ohio, together and were Sunday school friends. I have wonderful memories of being in Sunday school, youth group, singing in trios, taking short trips around Ohio, and just hanging out. I haven't seen her for many years but have a warm place in my heart with the memories of her friendship. May she rest in peace and may her family find comfort in knowing that she blessed many with her love and care. Janice (Haring) Staich

Pat, I treasure wonderful memories of Jan from Slidell Junior Auxiliary (and remember her quoting you - "Junior to whom; auxiliary to what?"), Slidell Little Theatre, and Christ Episcopal Church. May God bless and comfort you and your family at this difficult time.

Dearest Donnelly Family,
Although the majority of my memories of "Mrs. Jan" stem from our childhood vacations, I'm left with the sense of her strength and ability to commit herself with Herculean effort and drive toward her chosen pursuits. She shared a story of learning to "spin" on Ice Skates as a little girl. The process of "falling down" repeatedly, apparently brought forth her natural tenacity. She explained to me that when she finally succeeded, it was a significant lesson in her life for one to "never give up what may seem impossible". From hiking waterfalls in Jamaica on our vacations, to teaching me how to properly brush my hair in Florida as a tangled mess, she would always be mindfully present during our time together. I know that she was very proud of all of her Donnelly Men. May her strength and generosity live in your spirit as you carry her essence with you in the years to come.
