Janice Chatelain Obituary

Janice Neyland Chatelain, 72, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her home in Jonesville, Louisiana. She went to join her late husband, Paul J. Chatelain, where they are both reunited on Cloud Nine. She is predeceased by her parents, the late Richard, Sr. and Tula Neyland. She was born and grew up in New Orleans then moved to Chalmette to raise her family for many years until Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home forcing her relocate to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her four children, namely, Paul Joseph Chatelain, husband of Delores Chatelain; Melissa Chatelain McNab, wife of Vinson P. McNab; Kevin Mark Chatelain, husband of Christi Chatelain; Keith Michael Chatelain, husband of Kimberlee Chatelain and her faithful four legged companion, Toby. She is the Grandmother of Vinson "Vinny" McNab, Joshua, Jessica, Jennea, Journi, Joseph, Jorrie and Dane Chatelain. She is the Great Grandmother of Aubrey and Annalise Chatelain. She is also survived by her sister, Ella Mae Caviness; her brother, Richard "Moon" Neyland and numerous nieces and nephews. The family appreciates the entire staff at Hospice Compassus for caring for our Mother during her illness, especially her nurse, Melony Cole, R.N and her sitter, Ms. Rose Cranston. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 3rd from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. A Memorial Mass will follow beginning at 12:00PM. A private burial ceremony will take place in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
