Janice Gardner Obituary

Janice L. Gardner, loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt and cousin. Janice was a life long resident of New Orleans, LA, born on January 16, 1949 and entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 7:23 pm in Capstone Hospice, Marietta, GA. She was deeply loved and cared for by family and friends. Loving mother of Crystal and Gicanda. Grandmother of Anthony, Tatyana, Ashley, Talia and Lamar. Aunt of Vanessa, Autumn, Dawn and Lisa. Great aunt to their children. She was a Booker T. Washington Class of '67 alumni member. Relatives and friends of the family; Priest and parishioners of St.David Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Ms. Janice L. Gardner will be celebrated at St. David Catholic Church, 5617 St.Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12 noon. Interment Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA .Visitation 11 am in the church. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged. Gicanda, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine the pain of losing a mother. I pray that you find comfort in God's loving arms and that He gives you a feeling of peace that surpasses all understanding. I hope you find comfort when you reflect back on the beautiful memories that she left behind.
Anthony, Ashley and Lamar, you guys are in my prayers as well. Keep ya'll head up and know that God will see you through. Love you guys!!!

I am deeply sorry, by hearing of Janice's passing...I knew Janice in Junior High, A.C. Priestly...we lived in the same neighborhood...we were graced, attending B.T. Washington...we had the same homeroom...in the homeroom picture of 1966, Janice stood directly behind me...I graduated that year...my Deepest condolence to her family...I know Janice will be Greatly missed...RIP. my Friend...
