Jean Viola Obituary

Jean Celestin Viola, known to her loved ones as Sue, passed away on January 3, 2024, in Metairie, Louisiana, at the age of 62. She was born on February 10, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Jean Bouterie Celestin and Felix Charles Celestin Jr. Sue was a vibrant and joyful person who brought laughter and happiness to those around her. She had a zest for life and was always the life of every party. Her infectious laugh could brighten anyone's day, and she had a profound impact on the lives of others. Sue was known for her unwavering support and love for her children, Jared Viola and Dan Lantz Jr., as well as her stepson, Spencer Viola. Sue found joy in the small things and was always ready to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. She was a strong and resilient person, overcoming any challenges that life threw her way. Her faith in the Lord was a source of strength and comfort to her. In her professional life, Sue worked as an Account Manager for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Her dedication and hard work were evident in her successful career and the genuine connection she had with her clients and co-workers. Outside of work, Sue had a passion for music and enjoyed attending concerts. It was through music that she found solace and inspiration. Sue is survived by her sons, Jared Viola and Dan Lantz Jr., her daughter-in-law, Jordan Canizaro Lantz, her granddaughters, Sawyer Lantz and Andie Kate Lantz, as well as her Stepson Spencer Viola. She is also survived by her mother, Jean Bouterie Celestin, her brother, Carey Celestin, along with her sister-in-law, Kelly Celestin, and their children, and her Brother Charles "Chuck" Celestin and his children. Sue was preceded in death by her father, Felix Charles Celestin Jr., her paternal grandfather, Felix Charles Celestin Sr., and her paternal grandmother, Inez G. Celestin, her maternal grandfather Eugene Bouterie and maternal grandmother Elizabeth Donlin Bouterie. Please join us in honoring Sue's memory on Wednesday, January 10th at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at 10:30 AM. Service to celebrate Sue's life will begin at 12 PM, followed by a reception for family.
