No bond is as great as that between a mother and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

If Jesse were given even one hour of life for every friend he had, he would surely have lived a long life. But unfortunately, when God calls, no one has the power to over come his calling. I have read many, many remarks from Jesse's friends and I can surely tell that he was loved by many and helped so many more. He was truly an amazing person and if we can all live and give just 1/4 of what he did, we would surely make a difference in this world. We should all learn from him and be more giving and caring to one another and this world would be a much better place for all.

Our prayers are with you Tia Olga because I can only imagine what you must be going through. I know that my grandmother used to say that when you lose a child is like losing a part of your heart. Please take care and keep the faith. Juan & I pray that God will give you the strength and courage to continue on ahead. May God Bless you and keep you in his tender care. Our love and prayers are with you and your family now and always.

Jes-z was a good friend and will be dearly missed. The parties just will not be the same without him. He truely was the "Life of the Party". Jes-z was a team member on our volleyball team at Coconut Beach. If a game was not going so well, Jes-z always had the right thing to say that would make us all laugh. We also knew Jes-z as a fellow YLC member and who can forget those legs in the Mr. Legs contest.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all of his friends at this sad time. We will cherish the memories and remember all the laughs that Jes-z brought to us. He was truely a good person. We will miss you Jes-z.

Jes-Z was the "life of the party." He always knew what was going on and where to be. He was a giver and gave freely of his time to many charities, organizations and lending a ear to a friend in need. He was a good friend and a "make it happen" person. Jes-z has left an impression in the lives of many. His spirit and memories will remain with us. God Bless.

I was deeply saddened to hear that one of New Orleans' true bright lights had passed away. We all had many wonderful times in his company. Just the thought of Jez-Z, and his adventures always brought a smile to my face...To Jez-Z's family...He was truly a remarkable person, a great friend, a comedian and truly lived life to the fullest. His kindness, generosity and great spirit serve as example to all of us who had the honor to know Jez-Z. Most of all, know that he is loved by so many and there will be a great void in our lives without him.

I wish many people follow Jesse's example to be friendly, kind, funny and helpful like he was to many people. I will definitely miss him and will keep him and his family in my prayers. I had the loss of a very close and dear family member and I know how difficult it is to recover from the sadness but the only comfort that his family and friends can receive is to know that he was a great human being and that he was loved by many people that had the pleasure to share part of their lives with him. He is definitely leaving an unforgettable mark reminding us to appreciate every day and opportunity that we have to enjoy it with others in this world.

Jes-z was my good friend. He carried me through tough times and good times with a smile and a margarita. I'll always remember happy hours at Lucy's, Fajita nights at your place, Mardi Gras, etc. There's a happy hour in heaven, and you can be sure Jes-z organized it and it's in his honor today!
I love you Jes-z, and I know you would not want us to be sad. I am grateful to have spent time with you on Bourbon street for Pirate weekend--- the last time I saw you.You were in awe of all the crazy costumes and how people went all out for this new event. You wanted to stay out longer, but I think we called it a night around two or three. If I had only known.... You made special plans to meet up with me and my fiance since we were visiting. I am sad that you won't be at my wedding to give an approving smile but you can bet we'll have a round or two for you!!!I am so thankful to be able to say that you were a true friend to me always. People like you don't come along very often,at least not to me. Your heart and spirit were unique in this world and will live on through your multitude of family and friends. RIP, you are with the Lord and celebrating forever, and my prayers and thoughts are with your family now.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of Jesse Barrera. These can be difficult times, however, much comfort can be found in God's Word the Bible with such scriptures as Isa.25:8, and Ps.37:11,29.
