Joan Roettger Obituary

Joan Roettger, 70, of New Knoxville, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2021 at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 28, 1950 in Celina, OH to Lowell and Rosemary (Wieser) Roettger.
She is survived by: brother John Roettger of New Knoxville; nephew Andrew (Lisa) Roettger and four great-nieces and nephews: Jett, Maggie, Lena and Levi.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1969) and earned a degree in elementary education from The Ohio State University.
Her career in education was spent mainly in the Lancaster City School District.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.
Her favorite pastimes included sewing, playing guitar and watching movies.
A Mass Of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5, at the church, with the Rev. Alexander Witt, celebrant. Private family burial will take place in Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Public visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday morning at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller Bros. Funeral Directors in St. Marys and New Knoxville.

Joan was a friend since first grade at Holy Rosary. She was a dedicated educator and a woman of faith! She actually graduated in 1968...we were classmates from the very beginning! So very sorry, John and family, for your loss!
