I would like to offer my sympathy and prayers to Chuck, Nick, Brenda, and the entire Accardo family. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Joe's passing when I went by the shop on Saturday. He was a one of a kind great guy and will truly be missed! So Joe my friend, I would like to thank you for 30 years of excellent haircuts, stories, talking, listening, and advice on life in general.....Looking forward to my first haircut when I get to Heaven....save me a seat......

I was very saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I am 47 years old and have only known two barbers, Sal and Joe. Once he got to know you, he opened up just enough to let you see a glimpse of his life outside of cutting hair. I know he loved his trips to Italy and I enjoyed listening to him tell about them. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Joe, I will miss him greatly.

i was shocked tonight when passing by joe's barber shop to see the sign there. i will miss joe tremendously. he was a good man and a great barber! may you rest in the arms of the angels forever!

My barber and friend for more than 30 plus years, Joe was the " Man ". Of all the years of stories and jokes, I know his last ones where filled with so much happiness and joy. The smiles he had when telling me stories about the grandchildren. My prayers to Brenda,Chuck,Nick, and to all Joe's family and friends.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was a seemingly quiet, serious guy on the outside, but truly a kind, selfless man with a great sense of humor. And a longtime companion of a good friend of mine from years ago. I know there are no words that can take the grief away for now, but hopefully those close to him can take comfort knowing that he was highly revered as a genuinely “good guy” and the “best barber” my husband and so many others knew. He will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers-- and surely missed . . .

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Joe had been cutting my hair since I was old enough to ride a bike to his shop on Airline 20 years ago. I always looked forward to the commentary that occured as I waited...sometimes 2hrs for a haircut. He was gracious enough to make house calls to my dying father. It was amazing to see how much better he could make my dad feel just by cutting his hair. Thats the kind of guy he was. He will be missed and may God be with you.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Joe. A good friend of mine told me about him more than 10 years ago and he started cutting my hair since then. He always had funny stories to share about sports, politics or just about life in general. These guys are a rare breed. I hope he is in Heaven resting peacefully now.

OH MY GOSH! So Sad to hear about Joe's passing. He cut my entire family's hair for years. We live out of town now but used to get a haircut when we visited Metairie. What a great guy and will be truly missed.
