John Benjamin "Jack" Bauman

John "Jack" Benjamin Bauman passed away at his home on Monday, October 19, 2015. Beloved husband of Martha Jo Chappell Bauman for the past eight years. Loving father of Jennifer Bauman Ledet (husband, Darren), Rebecca Bauman Congemi (husband, Nick, Jr.) and John Benjamin Bauman, Jr. Stepfather of Jacqueline D. Brown (husband, Chris). Devoted grandfather of Kristian Coates (wife, Sarah), Allison Brown (husband, Timmy), John Bauman, III, Brooke Bauman, Hailey Bauman and Nick Congemi, III. Step-grandfather of Stephany Ledet, Valerie Ledet and Isabella Congemi. Great-grandfather of Aubrey Coates. Son of the late John Benjamin Bauman, Sr. and Juanita Bauman Thompson. Brother of Sandra Wilson (husband, Glenn) and Elliott Bauman (wife, Elizabeth). Former husband of the late Hulene H. Bauman. Also survived by two nieces, three nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Mr. Bauman, age seventy-one years, was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served aboard the USS Newport News during the Vietnam War from 1961 through 1964. He later worked as a Food and Beverage Director for several hotels in the New Orleans, LA area and retired after twenty years of service. Mr. Bauman was a member of the Delta Lions Club and was also a little-league baseball Coach at Pontiff Playground. He was a Lay Pastor in the Southeast LA Presbytery and served on Session and was also a member of the Choir and the Men's Club at Parkway Presbyterian Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 6200 Camphor St., Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Bauman to the Program of Hope, in care of First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans, 5401 S.
