John Cucinella Obituary

John Albert Cucinella Sr. entered eternal life on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at his home in Slidell, LA at the age of 64. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Korea. John was a retired member of Asbestos Worker Local #53 and a member of the Picayune Smoke Polers. Beloved husband of Jeanne Hotard Cucinella for 39 years. Devoted father of John Cucinella Jr and his wife, Lisa, and Angelo Cucinella. Loving grandfather of Gabriel Cucinella. Brother of Tony Cucinella, his wife Margaret, Ann Robin (late brother-in-law Milfred) and the late Albert Cucinella Jr and his surviving wife Terri. Son of Albert Cucinella Sr., and the late Elizabeth Pagano Cucinella. Longtime friend and fishing buddy of John Watson and his wife, Linda. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the 'Pantry Ministry', First Baptist Church, 4141 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell, LA 70458. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, on Tuesday, August 12, at 12:00 noon. Visitation at the funeral home from 10:30 until service time. Interment immediately following at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 64888 Grantham College Rd., Slidell, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, (985) 875-1131.

Jeanne, thinking of you & praying that u are doing ok. Has it already been 8 years since your tragic loss? But I know in some ways our losses can feel like forever. I hope u will hold on to ur strong faith which helps get us through one day at a time. The older we get the more we realize that we too will be on the other side very soon & will be reunited w our loves ones. I know he is praying for u & your son! God bless!
