John Dechon Obituary

DECHON Lt. Col. Retired John F. Dechon passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Beverly Thomson Dechon. Father of Stephen Myers (wife, Sherryl), Robert Myers, Mary Beth Burke and the late Mark Dechon. Grandfather of Amy Lynne Weaver. Son of the late Anna Ziburis Dechon and John Dechon. He was a native of Connecticut and was raised in New York City where he enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1943 and retired in 1967 after serving in WW II, Korea and Viet Nam. He received many decorations in the military including the Bronze Star with Valor. After retiring from the military, he worked and retired from Shell Oil. At his request, all services were private. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the charity of your choice. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
