John George Obituary

John Melvin George departed this life on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Canon Hospice. He was employed at Timberland Country Club for 15 years and later retired from the Jefferson Parish Sanitation Department. Son of the late Johnny ad Amanda George. Brother of Dolores George (Stanley) Jackson. Uncle of Shereba (Durrell, Sr.) Jeffery and Shawanna (Michael) Brown. Great uncle of Ashley DeGray, Dane' and Deboni Jeffery, Sydnie Brown, Durell Jeffery, Jr., and Collin Brown. Great great uncle of Peyton Cook. Loving cousin of Cheryl George. Great friend of Angela Jones, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at New Jerusalem Baptist Church 414 Westwego Ave. Bridge City, LA on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor George Davis Officiating.
