John Edward "Johnny" Harrington Jr.

John Edward (Johnny) Harrington, Jr. passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the age of 56. He was born in New Orleans on August 11, 1964. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Isbill Harrington. He is survived by his father, John Edward Harrington Sr.; sister, Gretchen Harrington Armbruster; daughter, Meghan Lavie; aunt, Maxine Isbill Eiserloh; cousins, Jed D'Arensbourg, Barbara D'Arensbourg Lawler and Chris Caire; niece, Caroline Armbruster Reich; nephew, Jack Edward Armbruster; and great-nephew, Eddie Armbruster. He attended Atonement Lutheran School and Rummel High School in Metairie. Johnny owned his own business, Auto Detail Supply of New Orleans. Before that he was employed by DA Exterminating Co. for over 25 years, where he worked primarily in sales. He was beloved by his colleagues and customers, always keeping things lighthearted and fun. Said a long-time colleague: "Johnny was a free spirit with a good sense of humor. We all cherished him as a loving member of the DA family." Johnny was fond of the Destin beaches, long bike rides up on the Lake Pontchartrain levee, cooking speckled trout, Taco-Tico splurges, and adding Tabasco to everything. He will be greatly missed by his family and countless friends, to whom he was devoted. John has left us too soon but he will live on in our hearts. A funeral service will be held at the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana 70006 on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
