John Jones Obituary

John Leon Jones, Jr. on July 5th at 10:00 o'clock am, at Tulane Hospital. He was a native of New Orleans and graduate of Walter L. Cohen, Sr. High School. He was a retired forklift operator from Kentucky Warehouse, Inc. with 42 years of service; he was also a lifelong musician and a member of the AFL/ CIO. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Pinkey Rounds Jones and John L. Jones, Sr. The father of John L. Jones, III, LaSandre King Jones and Jeanette Williams. The brother of Raymond Jones, Sr., and beloved companion of Cynthia Hatfield. Also survived by his grandson Brandon Jones; former wife Yvonne R. Jones, aunts, Dorothy Duvernay and Rosemary Andrews; daughter-in-law, Rondelyn Jones; son-in-law, Tyrone N. King; also survived by 4 grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends of the family. Age 65 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from 8:00 - 10:00 am on Friday, July 11, 2003 followed by a Religious Services at GERTRUDE GEDDES WILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana at 10:00am. Rev. Joseph Jackson-Officiating. Interment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home in charge.
