John Nunn Obituary

NUNN John "Jackie" McQueen Nunn, age 80, a retired CPA and Korean War Army Veteran died of cancer on Sunday, May 23, 2010 in Baldwin City, KS where he resided near his daughter, Beth Ann after Hurricane Katrina. He was born in New Orleans, LA son of the late Leah Hennessey Nunn and Walter Melrose Nunn, Sr. He was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and L.S.U. Mr. Nunn is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Elizabeth Ann Nunn Bittlingmayer and George Bittlingmayer, and Jeanne-Marie Nunn Alexander and Gordon Glass Alexander, as well as four grandsons, Adam Mathias Nunn Bittlingmayer, Stefan Conrad Nunn Bittlingmayer, Gauen Rhys Alexander, and Ted Ryley Alexander. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Halden Nunn Bittlingmayer, on January 17, 2010. He was also preceded in death by two elder brothers, William Anthony Hirt Nunn and Walter Melrose Nunn, Jr. He is survived by two younger sisters, Mary Dorothy Nunn Canzonire and her husband, Jack and Leah Mary Nunn Weis and her husband, Harold. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, three brothers-in-law, and his former wife, Elizabeth Ann Stewart Nunn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 2827 Canal St. in New Orleans on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of John M. Nunn to Bishop Seabury Academy Scholarship Fund, 4120 Clinton Pkwy., Lawrence, KS 66047, where his late grandson, Eric Bittlingmayer was a student from 2001-2004.
