Jose Bernal Obituary

March 19th, 1945 - July 14th, 2021. Jose Alberto Bernal Ramirez, age 76, passed away July 14, 2021 in Bogota, Colombia from complications of an intestinal obstruction. Dr Bernal was a cardiologist at Ochsner Clinic Foundation New Orleans since 1992 and retired in 2018 and returned to his country of birth, Colombia. Dr Bernal was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, family member, friend and doctor. He will be dearly missed but his kind demeanor and beautiful smile will remain forever in the memory of the ones who knew him. Dr Bernal is survived by his children Maria D. Bernal, MD (Jesus Lovera, MD) Alberto J. Bernal (Cristina Gonzalez) Jorge Bernal (Laura Alferez) his grandkids Sofia, Lucas, Isabel and Mateo, siblings Mario Bernal, MD, Amparo Bernal, Jorge E. Bernal and Alvaro Bernal. Dr Bernal was preceded in death by his parents Jorge Bernal, MD and Ceneida Ramirez and his wife Maria A. Bernal, MD. Jose A. Bernal, MD life will be celebrated with a mass on Saturday August 14 at 1:30 pm. Zoom meeting ID: 848 3806 6402 Passcode: 338589.
