Joseph Ingraffia Obituary

INGRAFFIA Mr. Joseph Peter Ingraffia, 102 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. He was born on Wednesday, August 1, 1906, in Independence, Louisiana, son of the late Rosario and Josephine Daratto Ingraffia. Mr. Ingraffia was the owner and operator of Hillside Dairy. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Roy J. and Colleen S. Ingraffia; 5 grandchildren: Edmond Ingraffia, Courtney Barton and her husband Michael, Celeste Ingraffia, Burke Ingraffia and his wife Melanie, and Roy Ingraffia and his wife Erin; 2 great-grandchildren, Josephine Barton, and Everett James Ingraffia; brother, Salvatore Ingraffia; and 2 sisters, Frances Dykes and Mary Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mella Ingraffia; brothers: John and Mike Ingraffia; and sisters: Tina Unger, Rose Macaluso and Angie Richardson. Friends will be received Monday, July 13, 2009, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, LA. Services will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 am with Fr. Howard Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery in Independence.
