I would like to send my condolences to Ms. Marion. Joe was everything to you. I send my heart out to his kids....it's not fair that they have to grow up without their father. Joe had the biggest heart and he didn't deserve what happened to him. I love and miss you Joe! Rest In Peace.

Nikisha, I, too, remember Joseph's entry into your family. I also watched you assume the role of caretaker in his life. It takes someone extremely special to assume a role as great as the role you assumed, and to do it without a second thought. You were diligent and faithful to Joseph's life. You saw to it that his needs and wants were met. For that you should be honored.

In the meantime, the Bible says that for EVERYTHING there is a season. There is a time to mourn and cry. There is also a time to rejoice.

I could only imagine what you feel. What I do know is this: God shall wipe all tears away.

In time, there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping, Peace and Joy will hold full sway. Far beyond life's crystal rivers, God shall wipe ALL tears away. When we reach that blessed homeland where it is everlasting day. On that bright eternal morning, God shall wipe all tears away.

Be Encouraged,

Nikisha Smith

April 26, 2005

I would like to personally thank everyone for your prayers, words of encouragement, support and time spent with our family. It meant so much to us knowing that your thoughts were with us during our loss. During our time of sorrow, we learn how much our family and friends mean to us. Your kindness and sympathy will always be remembered by our family.

I know that where there is pain, God will give us peace and mercy. Where there is doubt, He will release a renewed confidence through grace. Where there is a need, He will fulfill our needs.

If love could have saved Joseph, he would have lived forever. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye, Joseph was gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Never are we more aware of how much family and friends mean than at the time of bereavement.

(I would like to say special hello to Mrs. Deidre Magee, Joseph's favorite teacher from St. David.)

Peace and blessings to everyone, including Joseph Calvin Lucien. Love you forever, your big sister, Kisha

Nikisha,

I can remember when you first brought Joseph home. You immediately assumed the role of big sister and mother: taking care of Joseph's needs, making sure he was pleased and comfortable ,giving tons of love, and always willing to show a little tough love with a good ole' whippin'(smile). I was so proud of your for eagerly taking on such a big resposibility. Here we are 17 yrs. later and things haven't changed. You lovingly, supportively, and courageously celebrated Joseph's journey to our Father's home. I'm sure Joseph's looking down laughing because he knows he's still got a beat down coming for leaving Marion's home so unexpectedly and unannounced(smile). I can't tell you how proud I am of you and what a wonderful woman you are. I know Joseph feels just as strongly as I do. I Love You.

To Maw-Maw Mary, you are such a strong, bold, funny, and lovely lady; we honor your endurance. Jesse, we ask that you continue to go to God in prayer when you feel there is no other way, trust us, he will see you through. And to our wonderful in-laws Kevin and Nikisha, Wayne and I are here for you whenever you need us. We know you know who to call on when you're feeling your lowest. You not only have a friend in Jesus, but you have a friend in us. We love you dearly and we're just a phone call away. Kisha, you are admired for the strength you sustain so well; keep it up. We love you guys soooooo much.
