May God's peace and love comfort you at this time and in the days ahead...until you meet again. Joe Joe was truly "one of a kind". He had a heart of "gold" and would literally give you the "shirt off his back". He will be sadly missed and forever loved.

Words cannot express how much I will miss this little stinker. I truly loved you with all my heart. We had a lot of laughs together and I know you Crystal and Evie did as well especially Evie. You were the little brother I never got to give her and more a great and loyal loving friend. That is so hard to come by today.
My heart felt condolences to the family especially your mom. Mom I am praying for you. I know how much Joe Joe loved you.

I am grateful for the years we spent together and not a day will pass that I will not be thinking of you. I will never forget the many memories we had together. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Joe-Joe from First Baptist Church. Him and Evelyn were inseparable in those days. He visited my house a number of times and I remember that he was just such a fun boy with a loving spirit.
Lord I just ask you to be with Joe-Joe's parent in their time a grief, hold them up, be the shoulder they need to lean on, surround them with your love and comfort, help them to make sense of this unforeseen tragedy. Lord for all of Joe-Joe's family and friends let them know that you are there for them to lean on a shoulder to cry on and most of all the King of Kings that will help to ease their pain. In your precious name I pray. Amen

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To a special friend, it was just days ago we were talking and laughin on the phone and now your in a better place with the Lord. We have great memories and a long friendship with each other. You were truly the lite in a dark room making the best out of life. I will be your voice from behind the grave telling your story buddy. God had better plans for you. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We will be united in the future. I will miss u dearly and you will be in my heart for forever, untill next time thanks for the great memories.

The first time I remember seeing you was decades ago, I remember you being full of life with your curls on the baseball field at Bourgmouth Park. Then I watched you through years of basketball, playing ball was something you loved and enjoyed with your mom cheering you on the sidelines. I remember the good times growing up and you being over at the house in Lexington with my brother Chip, Lil Desi and Vinny D! Ya'll had some good times playing on that court in front of my house made out of duct tape! Then years went by and I didn't see you until I started dating Chad and you were reintroduced into my life and I still looked at you as the boy I knew so many years ago, but you weren't that boy anymore. In the short period you were back in my life though you have taught me about forgiveness and strength and I will always remember you and love you! You will be greatly missed and forever in my heart!

There isn't enough time to explain how many memories we have shared over the past 13 years and there isn't enough space on this page for me to explain how important and special they are. We were brothers and i will always keep our memories close to my heart. You could make anyone smile and laugh instantly without hardly trying. you were the guy that lit up the room when you walked in just because people wanted to be around you. You will always be remembered and loved dearly. I'm gonna miss you buddy you were one of a kind.
