Joseph Peterson Sr.

Sgt. Major Joseph Peterson, Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, with his family by his side in Spring, TX. Joseph was a native of Gretna, LA, born October 19, 1943, to the late Leotha and Andrew Peterson, Sr. He graduated from L.B. Landry High School in 1961. Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Mae Peterson, two brothers, Andrew Peterson, Jr. & Albert Peterson, and one sister, Leotha Peterson. He is survived by four (4) children, Joseph Peterson, Jr., Lisa Peterson-Charles, Dana Peterson, and Gaynelle Lawry; five (5) grandchildren, Brittny Charles, Muchell Charles, Brandon Lawry, Joseph R. Peterson, and Braxton Peterson and one (1) great-grandson, Breland Charles. He is also survived by one (1) nephew, Ernest Peterson. Joseph also leaves behind to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend his Funeral Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4th Street, Westwego, LA 70094 on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10: 00am: Presiding Pastor, Woodrow Hayden.
