Dear Shannon & Family, My Mom, Lizzie Belle Haydel Venus and your Paw-paw Haydel were brother and sister. She was the only sibling to stay in St. James Parish, while the others moved to Houma. Your Dad and I are first cousins.
Just want you to know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers. My Mom told me a very long time ago, that your Maw-maw (my Aunt Judith) said that no matter how many children she had, she stilled missed Lil Larry. With all of my love,

Hello I am Larry Cresswell. One of Joseph's best friends. I used to be a student at St. Andrew Episcopal School. We were in the same class. We used to play baseball together and were best friends. He is still my best friend and very close to me. I'm very sorry for "our" loss. And let the fact that we know this kind-hearted boy is living in peace.

Dear Schmidt Family.
I was searching for a copy of the obituary for my husband, also named Joseph Schmidt and came across the adorable photo of your son with the tragic news of his passing. It touched my heart so much to see his sweet face and immediately I thought of his parents, grandparents and siblings (I hope)Please accept my heart felt sympathy. I miss my Joe so very much but at least we had 53 years of a wonderful marriage, 2 children and 4 grandchildren.My Joe was a young 82. His death was still to soon for our family and especially for myself and now I saw your son.......so very young.
God bless you all and believe me, I will not forget your darling boy, When I will feel so sad for the loss of my Joe, I will think of you and your Joe and thank God for both.
