Joseph V. Soileau

Joseph V. Soileau, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on January 14, 2023 at the age of 85. He was a native of Washington, Louisiana, born on August 20, 1937 to his loving parents, the late John Ladie Soileau and Anaise Pellerin Soileau. Joseph is the beloved husband of 55 years to Dorothy Joanna "Jody" Jumonville Soileau; cherished father of Colette M. Hamilton and Marc N. Soileau; loving father-in-law of Kellie DeBroeck Soileau; proud grandfather of Camille Hamilton and Luc N. Soileau; and brother of Ruby Deshotel, Carrie Eastham, Amelia Carriere, Douglas Soileau, John L. "Junior" Soileau, Venita Monogham, and Vivian Soileau. Joseph had a career as a mathematician and was formerly employed with Dupont, Chrysler, General Electric, Corps of Engineers, and the Navy Research Lab. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing in his spare time. Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Abbey Church in St. Benedict, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 p.m. Joseph will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery following services.
