1929 - 2022

December 15, 1929 – November 9, 2022. Mrs. Juanita Theresa Thomas, affectionately known as "Neet" departed this life on November 9, 2022, with her loving daughter by her side and her loving and devoted children, grandchildren, and other family and friends in her heart. Juanita was the daughter of the late Ernest "Frank" Williams and Leola Walker Williams Stewart. Juanita leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Shan P. Williams, Sr., Van Daniels, Jr., Narvey Daniels (Bernadette), Beryl Thornton Alexander (Jose), and Erson Thomas (Nicole); five grandchildren: Shandrea P. Williams, Esq., Shan P. Williams, Jr. (Keisha), Gregory Williams (Shamekkia), Jr., Brittney J. Anderson (Remon), and Brandy J. Goudeau (Lucius); seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Juanita is also survived by her close nephew and nieces, Superintendent Keith E. Thornton, Sr. (Jaqueline), Missionary Darnella Lambert, and Peggy Thornton. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Edna Mae Thornton and Doris Roussell, and her husband Joseph Thomas. In celebration of her life, the family of Mrs. Juanita Thomas invites Thompson Temple COGIC, All Saints Catholic Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, McDonoughville Benevolent Society, St Mary's Academy, L.B. Landry Senior High School, L & R Security, Southern A&M University Law Center, Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, Shell USA Incorporated, Antoine's Bakery, Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to her homegoing service on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Thompson Temple COGIC, 1515 Whitney Avenue Gretna, LA 70053. The viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Juanita Theresa Thomas will be laid to rest at The Holy Name of Mary Church Cemetery, 500 De Armas Street, Algiers, LA 70014.
