I worked with Judy over the years at the Jefferson Parish Library, most recently at East Bank Regional. She was in Childrens and I was next door in Nonfiction. She was a wonderful person and she set a very high work standard for the library.
My condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Judy quite often as we were part time subs in the Jefferson Parish Library system. I so enjoyed working with her. I am still with the library. We talked about our sons often as they were both at Ole Miss at the same time. In fact, I loaned her a video tape of their graduation. That delighted her so much.
She was such a caring and loving person. I am sorry to hear of her death and will offer prayers for her and her family. Keep good memories of her. Fondly, Linda Vining

Judy was a wonderful person. She had a way of making others feel so special. She was so kind and loving and greeted her fellow co-workers with open arms and a cheerful smile. Judy was always there to help in any way she could. I have so many fond memories of her as we worked together at the Jefferson Parish Public Library. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have known her.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one. Judy spoke often of her family and with so much love. Her warm smile and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was a special person who truly made a difference in the lives of others.

To Timmy, Terry and their families: I cannot ever remember a time in my life when Aunt Judy, Uncle Walter and you boys were not in my life (Uncle Walter in spirit). I remember playing at your house when we were little and mom and Aunt Judy giggling in another room and our dads laughter (probably at them or with them). Aunt Judy is as much a part of my life as my own mother. There has never been a single time I ever spoke to Aunt Judy without her telling me about when my parents brought me home from the hospital(adoption), saying "Oh Allison, you were the most beautiful pink little baby girl I've ever seen". Every single time. That always made me smile and feel warm inside. But thats Aunt Judy. She always went so far out of her way to make others feel warm inside. I cannot tell you what a lifeline she was to my mother for the ten years after my mom had a stroke. My mother suffered alot of frustration and depression from the stroke but five minutes with Aunt Judy on the phone and she was giggling like a school girl. I know they were lifelong friends and our parents were best of friends when our dads were still alive. Aunt Judy really helped my mother cope with the loss of my dad as well. Aunt Judy was and will remain my only Favorite Aunt. She was and is my mothers best friend. I know how hard it is to lose a parent, especially a mom. I pray that God will bring you much comfort in your time of loss. Look at your children. There is a part of her in each of them. She was filled with love and pride over her grandchildren and God knows how much she loved her boys! I've never known a more graceful, compassionate and loving woman who would do anything for anybody with the exeption of my loving mother (and thats saying alot).I will miss her terribly, as I know you will and all the peoples lives she has touched and that of her friends. If I listen closley, I can hear my mom and her best friend Judy giggling and dancing on the wind.I have no doubt that our parents are all together in Heaven. I love you both and I pray you will be comforted by your memories and the knowledge that your mother and father are reunited at last in God's grace. I love you Aunt Judy, Allison

Dear Ruppel Family,
It was my joy and pleasure to know your Mom (My Judith) since 1941. We shared many Christian outings and parties together at Claiborna Presbyterian Church and entertaining the service personnel during the war and at church and U.S.O. functions. I loved her and will always remember her and your Grandmother and their families. God bless you boys and your families. Love, Muriel & Charley Schneider (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)

Sorry that I can't be there to pay my respects and express my sympathy in person. I'm a retired Jeff Par librarian; Judy was so pleasant and efficient that our staff was pleased whenever her schedule brought her to Wagner branch...

I was a great admirer of Mrs Ruppel
who made such a wonderful contribution to Jefferson Parish Library
for years with her devotion to the children of the parish. She was a
wonderful person and an example to
all of us of what a human being should be. She was one of the kindest
best tempered people I ever knew and
you were all lucky to have her in your family.
