Karen, I miss you so much. I know you are where you have wanted to be for a long time and I hope you are at peace and smiling. I know Mom and Rickey have a smile on their face to have you with them and I know that with all 3 of you looking down on us, we will be ok. I promise I will be there for Chris and Jeff as much as they need me too. You had and will always have the biggest heart and I will truly miss that. I love you so much. Shelley

Dear Jeff, Chris and family,
It was a sad moment to learn of your Mom's passing. Words seem to fall short on expressing our sorrow for your loss. We are so, so very sorry. Your Mom was a kind person and an equally good neighbor. We will miss her. Our deepest heartfelt sympathies are with you at this time. Know that we are thinking of you and wishing you strength as you deal with this very tough situation.

To Karen's Family,
I was so sad to hear about Karen.
I worked with her for many years, first at the old New Orleans OFS office, then later when I moved to Baton Rouge and she became a Specialist housed in the Metairie office. When she supervised me, and later when I supervised her, she mothered and chastised me - whatever was necessary. Both were appreciated. When she went through her most difficult time after losing Rickey, I tried hard to make her return to work bearable, but her pain was heartbreaking. Shortly before we both retired, she sent me a note thanking me for my support and friendship. It was more than thoughtful - I treasured it and have it still. We lost touch after retirement and I moved away, but I thought of her often. I trust she is at peace now. Know that there were many of us in her "work family" who cared about her and loved her.

Karen,
I can't believe you are gone. I hope you knew that even though we didn't always see eye to eye, that I loved you with all of my heart. You were always there for me unselfishly. But I truly believe that you are now at peace because you are with Mom and Rickey. And I know you always said that you were not my mom, but I always felt that the love you showed me was more than just as a sister, you were like a mom and a friend that I wish everyone in this world could have. Rest in peace Karen, I will miss you. I love you. I always will.
