Karen Hubert Obituary

Karen Blanks Hubert passed away on January 8, 2024. She was 69 years old. Born to Walter W. Blanks and Inez Blanks on May 8, 1954, she was a bright and loving soul. In her youth, Karen was an avid traveler and an enthusiastic diver. She was a caring, devoted mother to her daughter, Erin, and her son, Ryan. Having completed nursing school at LSUMC and working as an RN as a single mother, Karen was committed to her family and her career in healthcare. After retiring, her passion was her dogs. Karen poured her energy into raising and showing her terriers at shows across the country. Karen was a devoted Catholic and the Center of Jesus the Lord was her second home. She was an active part of the church and she always loved the time spent there. Karen was a warm and caring person. She was selfless for her family, friends, and those around her. She brought joy and love to those she touched in her life. She is survived by her daughter, Erin, her son, Ryan, and her brother Leonard. Services will be held at the Center Of Jesus the Lord at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, at 1235 Louisiana Ave, New Orleans on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12pm and Mass will be held at 1:30pm. Karen will be laid to rest alongside her parents and grandparents at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery following Mass.
