Kathleen Kolwe Shields, 77, of Metairie, LA passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. She was born on August 26, 1943 to parents, Frank and Agnes Kolwe. Kathleen grew up in the Irish Channel, she graduated from Redemptorist High School; she was a retired Para-Professional (JPSB) and was a longtime resident of Jefferson Parish. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Kolwe; mother, Agnes Farrelly Kolwe; husband, William J. Shields Jr.; siblings, Frank (Rita) Kolwe, Evelyn (Frank) Giroir, Marion Kolwe, Jack Kolwe, Ronald (Joanne) Kolwe; brother in law, George Spaulding. She is survived by her siblings, Doris (Sal) Portera, Anne Spaulding; children, Julie (Joey) Celino, William (Tracy) Shields, Frank (Cheri) Shields, Brad (Bridget) Shields; grandchildren, Cody Smith, Tyler Smith (Nicole Haydel), Trey (Jaimie) Shields, Ashley Shields, Heather Shields, Victoria Shields, Rebecca Shields, Jonathan and Joshua Celino, Lauren Shields; great-grandchildren, Ava Palmisano, Jace Shields. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Monday, March 1, 2021 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 7100 Jefferson Hwy, Harahan, LA 70123 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am followed by a Mass. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 2 in New Orleans immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org or Blessed Fr. Seelos.
