Kearny Quinn Robert Sr.

ROBERT Kearny Quinn Robert, Sr. on Sunday, February 19, 2012, age 98, a native of New Orleans, LA and longtime resident of Waveland, MS. Beloved father of Kearny Robert, Jr. (Susan Hanckes) and Beverly Robert Frater (Bryan). Survived by his grandchildren: Kearny Robert III, Katherine F. McCaw, Christopher Frater, James H. Robert, Robert Frater, John L.G. Robert and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Roslyn Thompson Robert. Graduate of Isidore Newman Manual Training School and the Tulane University School of Engineering. Worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers building the Mississippi River Waterways Experiment Station, and subsequently as a geophysicist for the Magnolia Oil Company. As founder and Senior Managing Partner of Robert Oil Company, he was active as a wildcatter pioneering oil fields in Mississippi including Churchill and Idlewilde. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Louisiana, and a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society and the Society of Tulane Engineers. Retired member of the Rotary Club of New Orleans, the Crescent Club, the Boston Club, and other civic and carnival organizations. Avid fisherman in the Louisiana marshes of the Mississippi Sound. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
