My prayers and thoughts are with the families. Kendra you will be missed. I knew Kendra while attending SUNO for my undergraduate. She was such a nice lady, a happy lady; The type of happyness that will just rub off you. She did not hesitate to lend a hand or come to the help of people she knew. I remember this story and I will for the rest of my life. Kendra and I worked in the Math lab where we tutor students along with other tutors. Although I could the math, communicating to english speaking students was another matter since english was not my primary language. One day I was tutoring a student who started ridiculing me because I did not know what the word inmate meant. The student started loudly voicing her outrage. I did not even know how to defend myself. I felt very ashamed and embarrassed. Kendra, on the other side of the room, heard the mocking and promptly steps to help me and even asked the student to leave the room. I had never felt so powerless. Kendra jumped in to my rescue. After that experience, I decided that tutoring was not something I no longer wanted to do. Deep inside and Kendra knew, I have always love teaching but I just didn't want to be ashamed like that again. She convinced me to return because I shouldn't let anyone destroy my passion. It meant so much to me and I don't even think Kendra realized it! I used to call her Miss Kendra and she will call me Dr. Zoh, before I even had a Ph.D.
We (Dr. O. students) will miss you dearly Miss Kendra! We were thinking of a big get together, LAMP and PESMACT scholars, to remember our time at SUNO. I am sure you will be us whatever day that is.

RIP Miss Kendra

Sending love and Prayers to your family. May you rest in Gods arms Sweet Angel. ( Los Angeles,Ca)
Shantel, Bryan, Sharnay Hilt.

To my love one's "Kendra" : I had a dream last nite and we talked for awhile. I ask how your doing? And you said with a smile. Big Mama was there at the gate and she welcome you with a hug. She told me to tell Mama and Daddy, Horace, Kenneth and Maize, Kathy and Jonathan your blessed. She told me Nanny (Gloria) was sitting on the porch watching the new arrivals. And Uncle Clifford was there with a great big grin. He was doing one of his cards tricks. And reciting his famous Dr. King imppresion. Then as I looked around the corner as far as I could see here comes Auntie Pee Wee. Doing the second line and coming towards me. Then I heard another voice it was Uncle Charles reminding me nothing stops here. Bible study on Wednesday and Choir rehearsal on Friday's. Then someone gave a shout out from around the corner and said, "I'll show Her to her room." And there was Laura Ann. Telling me how she admired my shoe collection. " we have Something in common ". Lol you know Ann. But, before we said our goodbyes you sung one more song. You where dress in white and had your wings on. It was the most beautiful words I had ever heard. The Lord Made Me Over. So goodbye my loves do not fear remember just close your eyes and I will always be near.

Rest in Peace Kendra

To the Warren & Johnson Families,

I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry to hear about Kendra's passing. She and I attended Valena C. Jones Elementary together. I vividly remember in kindergarten that she was the QUEEN and I was a maid (first runner up). I also spent a lot of time with Kendra and her baby brother Maze because their grandmother lived next door to my grandparents in the 2500 block of St. Anthony Street in the 7th ward (New Orleans). Kendra was a sweetheart who is now resting in the arms of the Lord. Earth knows no sorrow that Heaven can not cure.
