Kenneth Perrilloux Obituary

Kenneth P. Perrilloux, 77, of Covington, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born in a log cabin in Bedico, Louisiana, on June 30, 1946. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd V. Perrilloux, Sr. and Edna Mae Dewitt; brothers, Floyd V. Perrilloux, Jr. and Larry Eugene Perrilloux; and many other close friends and family. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol Ann Goodrow Perrilloux; son, Kevin Scott Perrilloux and his wife BethAnn; grandchildren, Victoria Ashley Hall and her husband Kale, Blaine Andrew Perrilloux, and Beau Alexander Perrilloux; great grandchild, Indy MaryAnn Hall; brothers, Ronald Leroy Perrilloux and his wife Valerie and Raymond Leon Perrilloux and his wife Connie. Mr. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Covington, Louisiana. He graduated from Covington High School in 1964, where he was a member of the marching Lions band. During his time at Covington High, he met the love of his life, Carol Goodrow, in the 10th grade. After dating throughout high school, they were married on October 2, 1965. When speaking of his beloved Carol, he always said "The best thing I ever did was meet and marry her [Carol]." Mrs. Carol took care of her in-laws, Floyd and Edna, throughout their elderly years-attending doctor appointments, running errands, and ensuring their quality of life was the best during the final years of life was very important to Mrs. Carol. As Kenneth's health declined, Mrs. Carol never wavered. She was there through the ups and downs, the good days and bad days, all the appointments, all the phone calls, and all the late nights. Mr. Kenneth was never alone-she held his hand through it all. Kenneth began his automotive career at Letsch Pontiac. After a long day at the dealership, he would head over to the one-man shop on 22nd Avenue to help his dad work on cars. Shortly after leaving Letsch, Kenneth and Carol opened Covington Automotive on Hwy 36 across the street from its current location in 1976. Eventually, they outgrew the building and relocated across the street in 1985 to where the shop still stands today. As time passed and Kenneth's health declined, his son Kevin stepped up and ushered in a new level of success for the business. Today, Covington Automotive is one of the most successful businesses in St. Tammany Parish. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Kenneth may be made to the Covington Food Bank online at northshorefoodbank.org/donate-funds or 125 W. 30th Ave, Covington, La 70433, or to the Northshore Humane Society online at northshorehumane.org/give or by mail to 20384 Harrison Avenue, Covington, La 70433. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 3:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. E.J. I met Ken in 1994 when we settled on the Northshore and quickly got to know him and Kevin as HONEST automotive technicians. Over the course of time we had as many as 5 vehicles driving 100,000 miles per year. That meant that there was always a problem brewing and Covington Automotive was my first call and only call. I trusted Kenneth completely to repair the problem AND to repair anything else that he thought needed to be addressed. Essentially, I trusted him with a blank check and was never disappointed. Kevin has followed in his father's footsteps and will guide the business to further success. Rest in peace Kenneth, all my vehicles are running fine.

We are very sorry for you´ll loss. Mr Ken as I called him, and he would always say"just call me Ken or Kenneth", was such a kind hearted person. When my daughter passed away in 2013, he did something for us that left a huge impact on Sandy and I.
Mr Ken, I know God had a special place in Heaven for you.

A very good man, as straight as anyone could be. I brought my vehicles to his shop for nearly 25 years now. Now he is free from the pain of this world. Rest peacefully Mr. Ken.

Kenneth was always so nice and a great conversationalist when I would take my vehicle to his shop. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and sharing ideals and beliefs. May he rest in peace.
