So glad to "hear" your voice.
Keep getting stronger, because the brilliance of the stars will dim if you are not here. The moon will suspend mid-sky and the sun will fly half-mast, if you are not here. The atmosphere will become crystals of desert dust, if you are not here. Our world will be forever changed and our hearts will be forever broken, if you are not here.
You are not here and our world changed and our whole hearts became broken.

Happy Birthday"Kenneth" 2-6-2019 I know you can't feel my tears and you don't want me to cry, yet my heart is broken because I still don't understand Why!! Your death came, in an twinkling of an eye. Dealing with grief is like living two lives. Because one part of grief we " pretend" everything is alright, and the other part is where our heart just silently screaming out in PAIN!!
You are gone, but not forgotten.

If someone would have told us that we would have to say goodbye to you, that we would have to travel the rest of this journey without you, we would have given more time to be fascinated with what fascinated you. And you were fascinated with bodies of water. Rivers - perhaps the mighty Mississippi as can be seen while standing on the edges of the Bluff. Ponds, pools, and creeks. Lakes - maybe the serenity of Dalryrmple Drive. And yes, the ocean. You spoke of the irresistibility of recreational parks. Maybe, City Park or Battery Parkthose beautifully carved out spaces where man and nature seem to come together to declare the greatness of GOD. If we had known that you would be leaving usthen we would, like you.have stood in awe and declared the magnificence of it all. Miss you Captain.

And one of the things you enjoyed mostwas music. You particularly enjoyed the music created in what you considered to be the greatest decade, the music of the 1970's. You rocked with everything from Parliament's P-Funk to the classic rock of Peter Frampton - from Leon Russell to the Funky Meters - from Earth Wind and Fire to the Rebirth Brass Band - from Maze to AWB - from Rufus and Chaka Kahn to Bread. If we had known that we would be saying goodbye to you, then each time the chords of America's A Horse With No Name, or Kansas' Dust In The Wind, or Rufus' Everlasting Love, or The Meters' Be My Lady, or The Isley Brother's Footsteps In The Dark, or Bread's Make it With You, or your pièce de résistance, Peter Framptons' Do You Feel Like I Do would take to the air waves, we would have given more time to watching your eyes come alive as the music came aliveand we would have cruised on America's Ventura Highway', harmonizing and dancing with you.

Life's journey gives us the ability to learn so many things. As children, we learn to take our first steps...we learn to go from tricycles to bicycles, and on to automobiles. We learn manners...we learn to greet others when entering a room...we learn to speak when spoken to. Of all the lessons to be learned in a lifetime...there does not seem to be a lesson that teaches us a painless way...to say goodbye.

I worked with Kent for over 10 years and am sorry I could not attend his memorial. Kent always maintained a positive attitude even after he endured trying times after Katrina and with his own personal problems. Kent was a great person and engineer and will be missed and remembered.
