Khadafi Chico Degruy departed this life on March 19, 2023, at the age of 41. He was born on September 6, 1981, to Reverend Bernard Chico Forbes and the late Patricia Degruy Forbes. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children-Jayden Woods, Khadafi Degruy II, Kaylen Price, Kevin Degruy, Khadafi Degruy III, and Unique Degruy; siblings-Anishka, Donald, Marquelle and Askari DeGruy, Tabalika and Chicwanda Forbes, Earl Payne III, Marvia, Marvielle, Marchelle, Markeyia, and Senque Smith, Jessica Taylor, Bernard Che Forbes, and Assata (Chad) Forbes-Cockerham; companion-Lisa Matthews; one grandchild; father; grandparents-Mandy Forbes, Laurence Degruy Jr., and Geraldine Butler Degruy; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandfather-Harry Forbes; and brother-Marvin Smith. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70114. The Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service. The Inurnment will be private. Professional arrangements are entrusted to Murray Henderson Funeral Home.
