Dear Mr. and Mrs. Flettrich, Leon, Dawn and family,
I just learned of Kirk's passing today. I am so very sad to hear the news. Although I have not seen Kirk in many years I remember fondly his gentle spirit and kind heart. I have very good memories of sitting around the kitchen table on S. White with Kirk and Dawn. Mrs. Flettrich was always cooking something and being so funny. It was easy to see where Kirk got his good humor and wit. What a loving family. God bless you all and my deepest condolences on the loss of Kirk.

Dear Flettrich Family,
I have had the pleasure of singing in the choir with Kirk at the MCC New Orleans. Our church family already misses Kirk, but we celebrate his memory: a loving, kind, humorous, Christian man. At the loss of you dear son, I pray God will wrap you in his arms with the love of friends and family. Please let me know if there is anything our church can do for you.

Kirk has been a cherished congregant and choir member at MCC New Orleans. Our church family will remember Kirk as a kind, loving, humorous and dedicated Christian man. We miss him already, and take solace in the faith that God has brought Kirk home. God bless and keep you strong, and may God wrap you in the loving arms of people who love you.

Maw Maw & Butsy,
My deepest sorrow for two of the best parents, friends, co-worker and just loving, trusting people. My heart just aches for both of you. I will always remember Kirk as a sweet, kind and loving soul. You raised Kirk at the same time you raised me at the Times Picayune and I just loved hearing all those funny stories about Kirk, Dawn and Leon. Just know that Kirk is at peace with God and he's made heaven a brighter place! I love both of you very much and will be praying for your family.

Dear Joanne, Butsy, Leon and Dawn,
I was so saddened to learn of Kirk's death. Having grown up two doors down from your family's home on South White Street, Kirk was a great friend of mine from my childhood. I have very fond memories of him and your entire family - I can still hear in my mind you, Joanne, calling from your kitchen windows for the boys to come home - Kirk has now been called by his Father to his eternal home in peace. Kirk's too early passing reminds me of how special those years were at the corner of South White and Elba. My thoughts are with you all from afar.

I am saddened by the loss of such a caring and loving person. I knew Kirk through my daughter Kitty who thought the world of him. Kirk was a really good friend of hers. He will be missed by all. Kirk always had a smile on his face and always made you smile and laugh. He was one great guy. Kirk will be missed by all but he will never be forgotten.
