Larry J. Mabile passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024. He was 86 years old. He had been a resident of Audubon Health and Rehab for almost seven years. A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Jane Talbot Mabile; son, Guy Mabile, daughter, Leah M. Benoit, son Todd Mabile (Lydia), daughter, Celeste M. Chesney (Billy), former son-in-law, Byron Benoit; grandchildren, Justin Mabile (McCall), Lauren St. Pierre (Jeff), Cory Mabile (Angela), Kerry Mabile (Sierra); great-grandchildren, Wyatt Mabile, Allie, Ashley, and Ainslee St. Pierre, Aliah Mabile, and soon-to-be-born, Emmalyn Mabile. He is also survived by his sister Barbara M. Talley and nieces Carolyn Godwin, Donna Veasey, and Pam Evans, and sister-in-law Janet Gros (Harvey Landry). He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Elder Barbier Mabile; his in-laws, Seraphin and Lelia Hebert Talbot, and brothers-in-law, Louis (Gladys) Talbot, Mike Gros and Chandler Talley. After graduating from Assumption High School (Class of 1956), he enrolled in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a barber for 40 years. He was the "La" in LaRoDan's Barber Shop. He enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. After he retired, he enjoyed playing pool with Padua, Floyd and Thomas. He was a NASCAR fan. He liked watching televised football games and various shows with his wife. Some of his happy moments were spent riding his John Deere mower to keep his lawn neat. Larry was a loving, kind, and generous man. He will be deeply missed.
