Donna and family--I was so saddened to hear of Larry's passing. I have such fond memories of those great years when we were all neighbors in FSJ and had such fun: Larry being crowned "prom king" at Katie's and dancing to the jukebox, and the night the boys had us all "arrested" and bused by the sheriff's office to a surprise cruise on the lake. I will always look back fondly on the memories of all our times together. You have my deepest condolences, and know that you and the family are in my prayers.

Donna Gilbert and Family,

Cindy and I were new to New Orleans when we first met you and Larry. Both of you proved to be gracious hosts and good friends. We worked closely with Larry for the enhancement of Faubourg St John neighborhood. We came to admire Larry as a dedicated civic worker and a tremendous human being. In turn, we came to know Larry, you, and your children as an ideal family unit. We will love and cherish the memories of those times forever. Thanks for being such good friends.

I befriended Larry while attending Tulane School of Engineering and haven't seen him for many years. I graduated a couple of years after Larry and our acquaintance was somewhat limited, but I remember Larry very fondly. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Gilbert family.

Donna, Erin, and Will (and family) - I am so sorry for your loss. Without Mr. Larry tutoring me in geometry I don't think I would have made it out of college. He was so kind and patient with me. He could also make a mean Old Fashion - that sure helped with bisecting those darn angles. I know he will be greatly missed by all he touched with his generous spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Love, Wendy

Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was an excellent engineer and one of the finest men I ever met. Someone wrote he never spoke an unkind word about anyone, and that is so true. We learned a lot from Larry. We know him from the Gore Engineering days to present. Larry was always an engineer that would give you a reasonable answer that you could rest assured was well thought out. We are deeply saddened by his passing and our prayers go out to his family. We will miss this wonderful competent engineer very much, but we will miss the man Larry Gilbert even more.

All the staff at Perrin & Carter express our condolences to Larry's family.

Larry was the epitome of a great engineer, with a passion for technical excellence and client service. His passion now becomes his legacy. Ardaman engineers are far better off having worked with him. Always a smile for everyone. Larry will be sorely missed. Condolences to the Gilbert family.

Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was always my "go to" guy on geotechnical issues. He was always willing to help and had the ability to explain complex geotechnical issues in clear, simple terms.

A couple of years ago, I called him with a question and I was having trouble understanding his explanation over the phone. He asked if he could come by my office and explain it in person. Fifteen minutes later he was sitting in my office. He drew a couple of sketches to clarify his answer and I understood exactly what he was saying. He will be sadly missed.

Donna,

I will always remember the good times we had when we were young "bad girls" in the neighborhood -- especially, when the husbands surprised us with a riverboat ride -- what fun all of us couples had.

Both Reid and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Love,
Linda Gautreaux
