Leandro Ferrer Obituary

Leandro "Lenny" Juan Ferrer passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the age of 73. He was the beloved son of the late Jose and Bertha Ferrer. Brother of Catalina Ferrer Mullen, Dennis Ferrer and the late Philip Ferrer and Francisco Ferrer. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his longtime companion, caregiver and faithful friend Edward C. Granati, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Leandro was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He enjoyed a 40-year career as Head Cashier with Merrill Lynch and proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. His love for celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans was surpassed only by his love for Gone with the Wind. He will always be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family and friends, his caring and loving spirit, his laughter, and watching Gone with the Wind, again. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 29th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a memorial service in Lenny's memory beginning at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Lenny to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 800-873-6983 or www.stjude.org.
