Leanora Bonnivard Nuss

Leanora Bonnivard Nuss, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 1, 2017. She was 97 years old. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and lived in both Metairie and River Ridge; also in Roanoke, Texas (post Katrina). She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her gentle demeanor, her kind heart and her beautiful smile. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Herbert Joseph Nuss. Survived by her two daughters, Linda Nuss Russo (Anthony) and Sharon Nuss Ruppert (Bernard). Leanora adored her grandchildren, Holly Holmberg Javier, Jonathan Ruppert (Mary), Enrico Russo, and the late Vince " Rocky " Russo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Logan Javier, Brooke Javier, Taylor Russo, Lindsay Russo, Kyleigh Ruppert, Brianna Ruppert, and her great granddaughter Adrianna Russo. Also survived by her friend and sister-in-law, Rita Painter and many nieces and nephews. Her family extends a special thank you and appreciation to everyone who helped to make her final days comfortable; especially her grandniece, Gina DiLeo and the support staff of Notre Dame Hospice; Gloria Darouiche, Carissa Mosbey, Margaret Smith, and Marvin Jackson. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation and mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 10:30 A.M. to 12 Noon, followed by Mass at 12 noon with interment to follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA.
