Lena Shano Kass

Lena Shano Kass peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the age of 85. Daughter of William Baron Shano of Naples, Italy and Rosalie Angrisano Shano of Marrero, LA. Beloved wife of the late Newman Joseph Kass (Mickey), beloved mother of Linda Lou Kass and Cindy Roselie Kass. Grandmother of Louie Joseph Blanchard, Jr. and Tia Angele Blanchard Raines (Brandon). Great-Grandmother of Braylon, Brody, and Brantley Raines. Lena is the sister of Mike, Charlie, and Paul Shano, the late Angelina Bourgeois, Mary Richard, Joe, Sam, and William "Buffa" Shano and Louise Breaux. She was born in Friendship, Wisconsin and resided in Gretna, LA for the past 80 years. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and gardening, but her passion was bringing family and friends together with her love of cooking. Known to all of her grandchildren as "Maw-Maw", her most cherished time was spent watching them grow. Relatives, friends, and members of the Theta Golden Agers of Terrytown are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 9 AM until Funeral Mass time at 11 AM.
