Leo Dolliole Obituary

DOLLIOLE Leo John Dolliole entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in New Orleans, LA on August 13, 1946 to the late Albert and Lucille Poree Dolliole, Sr. Leo was a retired U.S. Postal Service Letter Carrier where he worked for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a self-employed construction worker. He attended Joseph S. Clark High School, Straight Business School and served valiantly as Drill Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Leo is survived by his daughters- Devona Dolliole Greenstone and Shirley "Charlie" Dolliole; their mother, Evie DuVernay Simmons; sisters- Anita Thomas, Shirley Spriggins and Delores Young; son-in-law, Aaron Dunitz Greenstone; brother-in-law, William Spriggins, Sr.; and devoted niece, Yvonne "Fessie" Green as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Brown and brother, Albert "Basam" Dolliole, Jr. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at St. Augustine Catholic Church 1210 Gov. Nicholls St. Visitation will be 8:00am to 10:00am with Mass immediately following. Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3. Arrangements entrusted to Majestic Mortuary, (504)523-5872.
